Movie Making Workshop

A three days’ workshop on movie making has been organized in St. Vincent Pallotti College. The aim of the workshop was to make students familiar with the soft skills of  film making. The Chief Guest of the program was famous Indian Actor, Director and owner of a famous music band, Padma Shri Mr. Ramanuj Sharma. He has a wide range of experience of feature films making, advertisement making, acting, and singing. The inauguration of the event was done by the chief guest in the noteworthy presence of the Assistant Administrator of the College, Rev. Father Julius Xess, Principal Dr. Kuldeep Dubey, Vice Principal, Dr. G. Padma Gouri, and all the staff and students of the college.

Objectives:-

1. To build intellectual and enthusiastic understanding of theatre arts.
2. To help students to understand filmmaking as a tool to communicate a message.
3. To enable them to understand the basics of video editing.
4. To make the students learn the basic principles of film-making .
5. To help the students to understand the technical aspect of movie-making.

Mr. Anuj Sharma explained each and every technical details of film making with great enthusiasm. Students had many doubts related with script writing, selection of the subject of the movie, casting , technicalities of handling the camera, sound  editing and many more other areas. They put their queries in front of the speaker and got satisfied with the response of Mr. Sharma.  The whole session was filled with the gusto and energy of the discussion.

The next two days were devoted for the practice of the various possibilities of movies making for students. Students practiced the skill of preparing a short script and its picturization through their smart phones.

Outcomes:-

1. The students learnt about movie editing and VFX.
2. The doubts of the students were clarified.
3. Students got to know about creating sound effects.
4. Students learnt about camera angles.
5. Students enthusiastically practiced the skill.
6. The idea of observing film making as a career option got strengthened among the students.

The workshop ended with expression of gratitude to the honourable Chief Guest and all the dignitaries who contributed in the success of the event.

The whole workshop was a great success.
